Poems & Stuff

Here are some things that we have come across that are not always dog related, but we feel that they are worthy of sharing. I decided to create this page for such things. We hope that you enjoy all that you see on this site and maybe it will make a positive difference in your day. If you have anything that you feel is worthy of sharing and would like to see it here please email me and I will put it here. If you have not come to the conclusion, we are very patriotic. We love our country and stand behind OUR president, GEORGE W. BUSH! I implore all who read this to take a moment to pray for him and our troops. We are born again Christians and want His light to shine through us to show His love for all people and that He is the Way, Truth and the Life to heaven.

Finally, if they have surrounded themselves with bricks in such a way that they can neither be seen nor heard from, put them in Congress.

This will give you the chills........

GOOD chills.
A young man had been to Wednesday Night Bible
Study.
The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's
voice
The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to
people?'
After service, he went out with some
friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message.
Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different
ways.
It was about ten o'clock  when the young man started driving home.
Sitting
in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak to people,
speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.'
As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest
thought
to stop and buy a gallon of milk.
He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a
reply and started on toward home.
But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.
The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice
of
God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.
'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem
like
too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped
and
purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.
As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that
street.'
This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection.
Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street.
At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.
Half jokingly, he said out loud,
'Okay, God, I will.'
He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He
pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial
area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of
neighborhoods
either.
The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the
people were already in bed.
Again, he sensed something! , 'Go and give the milk to the people in the
house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark
and
it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep.
He
started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.
'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up,
they
are going
to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and
give the milk.
Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the
door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy
person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for
something,
but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.'
He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise
inside. A man's voice! yelled
out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the
young
man could get away.
The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he
just
got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too
happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?'
The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to
you.'
The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway.
Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk! toward the
kitchen.
The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man
had
tears streaming down his face.
The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had
some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any
milk
for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get
some
milk.'
His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel with
some
Are you an Angel?'
The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he
had on
him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car
and
the tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers.

This is so true. Sometimes it's the simplest things that God asks us to
do,
if we are obedient to what He's asking, we can hear His voice more clear

than ever. Please listen, and obey! It will bless you (and the world).
Phi l
4:13

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions. Jesus
said,
'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'

On the first day God created...

On the first day, God created the dog and said:  "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said:  "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:  "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."

The monkey said:  "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:  "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said:  "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:  "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."

But man said: "Only twenty years ? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.....

Live well, laugh often, love much!!!

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.   From a distance, each looks like every other horse.   But if one stops the car, or is walking by, one will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind.
His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.   This alone is amazing.

Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, one will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.  Attached to her bridle is a small bell.  It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.

As one stands and watches these two friends, one sees how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him astray.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others
into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by God
and those whom he places in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see God.

Day 6, Truth & Deception:  Christianity & Jehovah's Witnesses

Founder:

Christianity--Jesus Christ, God's eternal Son, co-equal with the Father & Holy Spirit

Jehovah's Witnesses--Chas. Taze Russell & Jos. F. Rutherford, 1879, in Pennsylvania

Key Writings:

Christianity:  The 66 Books of the Old and New Testaments, written between 1400 B.C. and 100 A.D.  One God-breathed message: Salvation to all who believe on Christ.

Jehovah's Witnesses:  Watchtower Publications, "Awake!" magazine,
the New World Translation (with distorting notes) of the Bible

Who is God?

Christianity:  One Triune God, Father, Son and Spirit.

J.W.'s:   One Person, "Jehovah."  Not Jesus and not the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the first thing "Jehovah" created.

Who is Jesus?

Christianity:  Fully God & Fully Man, Creator & Sustainer of all, Co-equal w. the Father.

J.W.'s:  Not God.  Was Michael the archangel.  After dying on a stake, not a cross, he was resurrected as a spirit.  His body was destroyed.  Not coming again, he came spiritually in 1914.  Very soon he and the angels will destroy all non-J.W.'s.

How can a person go to heaven?

Christianity:  By grace through faith in Jesus Christ, God's Son our Savior who died in our place on the cross to save us from our sin.

J.W.'s:    Be baptized as a Jehovah's Witness.Earn everlasting life on earth by door-to-door work.  Salvation in heaven is for only 144,000, a number that has already been reached.

J.W.'s don't observe holidays or birthdays,  don't salute the flag or work in the military, don't accept blood transfusions.

Pastor's note:  J.W.'s are trained to redirect you through conversations and "Bible studies" in your home.  They will tell you  for example that Jesus is "a god," not THE GOD, cleverly trying to convince you that the absence of the word "the" in John 1:1-3 means Jesus isn't the same as Jehovah.   Like Mormon door-to-door evangelists, they follow clever lines of reasoning to get you confused and off-track.  Don't invite them in.   THE OBVIOUS TEACHING THROUGHOUT THE NEW TESTAMENT IS THAT JESUS IS GOD.  Check it out for yourself.

Day 6, Truth & Deception:   Christianity, "Unity"    What's the difference?

Cult/Truth
Resources:  www.irr.org      www.pfo.org     www.watchman.org   www.mrm.org
                   www.apologeticsiindex.org   www.scp-inc.org

FOUNDER:

Christianity:  Promised and foreshadowed through the Old Testament, JESUS CHRIST,
fully God & fully Man, recognized by secular historians of His time.
Unity:  Chas. & Myrtle Fillmore, 1889, Unity Village, Missouri.

WHO IS GOD?

Christianity:  The One Triune eternal Creator/Sustainer of all. 3 Persons, One God.

Unity:  Invisible impersonal power, principle, law, being, mind, spirit. "in everything."

WHO IS JESUS?

Christianity:  THE Way, THE Truth, THE LIfe, THE only Mediator between God and Man
Eternal, Incarnated Son Who died for man, rose again, ascended to heaven
and will return and reign forever.
Unity:  A man. Not "the Christ!"--("Christ" is a state of perfection in every person.)

HOW DOES A PERSON HAVE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION?

Christianity:   Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in your heart that He died and rose again for your sake; receive the free gift of eternal life, forgiveness, escape from "the second death,"  to be with Christ in the new heavens & new earth!

Unity:  Recognize that each person is a son of god as Jesus is.  There's no evil, no devil, no sin, no poverty, no old age.  A person is reincarnated till he learns this and becomes perfect.  Death is a result of wrong thinking. No literal heaven or hell.

DO'S & DON'TS WITH FRIENDS IN DECEPTION:
1. Examine your own beliefs.  Search the Scriptures: John, I John, Romans, Ephesians for starters.
2. Freshly commit your heart to God and the authority of His Word.
3. Show kindness.
4. Pray and wait for openings to share.  Your personal testimony is indisputable!
5. Be respectful and real.
6. Be courageous and humble.
7. Be positive.  Share the transforming power of Jesus' love & forgiveness.
8. Be patient.  You may be a planter, a waterer or a reaper. The Holy Spirit regenerates.

Truth/Deception   Day 7   Christian...Agnostic

Alexander Pope's "Essay on Man" ushered in humanism, sister of agnosticism.  Here's the central quote:
"Presume not God to scan; the answer to man is man."  [Dethrone God and take the throne yourself.]

Because Christians and organized Christian religious groups are fraught with sin, a percentage of folks exposed but not yet responsive in faith to Jesus' love become disheartened. They let down their reverence.  They back away, entertaining the notion, "Christianity doesn't work."

Believing their own sensibilities are more trustworthy than the Bible, and following their own devices to find peace and pleasure, these individuals move to an intellectual place called "agnostic."  The literal meaning is, "away from knowing."  The position regarding God, creation, the Bible as Truth, heaven and hell, 10 Commandments from God, is--"I don't know!"

The notion is, I'm being intellectually honest.  I don't see Christianity working, and I do see non-believers being pretty humane.  I don't want an artificial Authority over my life, so I take this ground:  "I just don't know."  Therefore, I do whatever I want, and I assume I don't have to answer to "God" or "The Bible" for my life.  Famous thinker Aldous Huxley, living in fornication, honestly admitted that he chose agnosticism as a way to be unaccountable for behavior he chose to engage in.

    Is Christianity real?
1. Old Testament prophecy to Abraham, 2000 BC, came true in the 425-year captivity of Israel in Egypt, followed by the predicted deliverance.
2. Old Testament prophecies to Moses, 1450 BC, came true in Israel 700 years later in the deportation to Babylon and the deliverance 70 years later exactly as predicted.
3.  Creation by God is  SO OBVIOUS THAT ONLY DISHONESTY ALLOWS CONTRADICTION.  For example, the chance that the Earth could sustain life by chance IS 10 TO THE NEGATIVE 15TH POWER, 1/1000th of a trillionth. Even an amoeba is so complex that scientists don't completely understand it. The human eye is so tremendously complex it takes volumes to describe what we know about how it develops and works.  It is wondrous beyond description in its intricate design and sustenance.
4. The Old Testament prophecies of Christ, 315 of which we know were fulfilled in Jesus' conception, birth, life, death and resurrection are stunning.  Stunning. That these predictions would come true in a person by chance is far beyond reason.
5.  Every discovery in archaeology in the Near East has confirmed the accuracy of Biblical records.  "Not one archaeological find has contradicted the Bible."--Dr. Nelson Gleck, the leading (non-Christian) Near East archaeologist of the last 1/4 of the 20th century.  Jewish archaeologists recently found the burned remains of Sodom, with clumps of sulfur amid blackened bricks, just as the story goes in Genesis, from around 2000 B.C.
6. The Bible is true to psychology, the universal ways of men's minds.  Even the honest expressions of the Apostle Paul in Romans 7 are consistent with what we know about psyche.
God, through nature, our own experiences, the Bible, the enduring though flawed church, the Holy Spirit "touching" our consciences and thought processes, calls us to Himself...to trusting in His crucified, risen, ascended, returning, reigning, loving Son Jesus.  "O taste and see that the Lord is good," the Psalm beckons.  Malcomb Muggeridge, C.S. Lewis, J.R. Tolkein, John Milton, America's leading genome scientist today, along with kings, queens, presidents, scholars and geniuses, invite you to join the parade of believers, leaving the artificial "smokescreen" of empty and reality-denying agnosticism.  Jesus loves you.

Christianity...agnosticism.   "The fool has said in his heart, no God."

Anyone remember this??

It was 1987!  At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"

"No, sir," continued Ollie.

"No? And why not?" the senator asked.

"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."

"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.

"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.

"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.

"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.

"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Also:

Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in
Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center . This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.

It was censored in the US from all later reports.

If you agree that the American public should be made aware of this fact,
pass this on.

Do Not Break - it is 3 years strong

This is why I always say I love YOU....

This has not been broken since 9/11/01, please keep it going...
This has been kept alive and moving since 9/11. In memory of all those who perished this morning; the passengers and the pilots on the United Air and AA flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent bystanders. Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

Send this to at least 10 people to show your support.

PLEASE DON'T BREAK IT!!!!!!

THE BOY AND THE FLAG

I want my boy to be the best,

I want him to be great;

I want him in in Life's distant West,

Prepared for any fate,

I want him to be simple, too,

Though clever, ne'er to brag,

But, Oh! I want him, through and through,

To love his country's flag.

TO THE BOYS OF AMERICA

OF COURSE WHAT WE HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT FROM

the American boy is that he shall turn out to be a good American man. Now, the chances are strong that he wouldn't be much of a man unless he is a good deal of a boy. He must not be a coward or a weakling, a bully, a shirk or a prig. He must work hard and play hard. He must be clean-minded and clean-lived, and able to hold his own under all circumstances and against all comers. It is only on these conditions that he will grow into the kind of man of whom Americans can really be proud .

LET'S ROLL!!

by Mr. BEAMER  9-11-2001

I SUPPOSE THERE'S A TIME IN PRACTICALLY EVERY YOUNG BOY'S LIFE

when he's affected by that wonderful disease of puppy love. I don't mean the kind a boy has for a pretty little girl that lives down the road. I mean the real kind that has four small feet and a wiggly tail, and sharp little teeth that can gnaw on a boy's finger: the kind a boy can romp and play with, even eat and sleep with.

WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS

THE BOY AND HIS DOG

A BOY AND HIS DOG MAKE A GLORIOUS PAIR,

No better friendship is found anywhere,

For they talk and they walk and they run and they play

And they have their secrets for many a day,

And that boy had a comrade, who thinks and who feels,

Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels.

He may go where he will and his dog will be there,

May revel in mud and his dog will not care,

Faithful he'll stay for the slightest command

And bark with delight at the touch of his hand;

Oh, he owns a treasure which nobody steals

Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels.

No other can lure him away from his side,

He's proof against riches and station and pride;

Fine dress does not charm him and flattery's breath

Is lost on the dog, for he's faithful to death;

He sees the great soul which the body conceals,

Oh, it's great to be young with a dog at your heels!

When I say... "I am a Christian"

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not shouting "I am saved"

I'm whispering "I was lost"

That's how I got this way.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I don't speak of this with pride.

I'm confessing that I stumble

and need someone to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not trying to be strong.

I'm professing that I'm weak

and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not bragging of success.

I'm admitting I have failed

and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not claiming to be perfect.

My flaws are too visible, but

God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I still feel the sting of pain,

I have my share of heartaches

which is why I speak His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I do not wish to Judge.

I have no authority.

I only know that I'm loved.

Share this with somebody who already has this understanding, as reinforcement.

But more importantly, share this with those who do not have a clear understanding of what it means to be a Christian, so that the myth that Christians think that they are "perfect" or better that others can be dispelled.

Power and Responsibility

First Grade Wisdom

A first grade teacher collected well known proverbs. She gave each child in her class the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders. Their insight may surprise you. While reading these keep in mind that these are first graders... "6" year-olds, because the last one is classic!

Declaration of Dependence on Christ

"When in the course of my life it has become

abundantly clear that I am a sinner by nature

and practice in the eyes of a holy God,...

...and since I have learned that God so loved

me that He gave His one and only Son to die

in my place for all my sin and rise again in

glory to await His own in heaven...

...and since He promises to save all who

call upon Him from the consequences,

power and very presence of sin without

reservation or hesitation...

...I do, on this day, declare my repentance from

the tyranny of myself and my sin. I do transfer

my trust to Jesus alone to direct my mortal

life and for my eternal salvation?"

Author unknown

I implore you right now after reading this and you feel the Holy Spirit calling to you, please answer Him. You may not get another chance. All you have to do right now where you are sitting just tell Jesus that you know that you are a sinner, that you want Him to cleanse your soul and make you brand new. After you have said this prayer I want you to call someone close to you that you know is a believer or me, you can even call me collect. It is very important that you get into a body of believers.

NOBILITY

Nobility is not a birthright, it is defined by ones actions.

POLITICALLY CORRECT - NOT!

Samuel Thompson wrote: "I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of evolution. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a game. So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking Him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game. "But it is a Christian prayer," some will argue. Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. And we are in the Bible Belt. According to our own phone book Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect somebody chanting Hare Krishna? If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer. If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer. If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha. And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome..... "But what about the atheists?" is another argument What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer. Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations. Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating, to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well.....just sue me. The silent majority has been silent too long. It is time we let the one or two who scream loud enough to be heard, be heard. It is time the majority rules! It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray, you don't have to say the Pledge of Allegiance, you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right, but by golly you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back.....and we WILL WIN! After all, the God you have the right to denounce is on our side. God bless us one and all, especially those who denounce Him...God Bless America, despite her faults...She is still the greatest nation of all....God Bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God... may 2003 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions. Keep looking up....In God We Trust

TWENTY-ONE TRUTHS TO PONDER

1. Faith the ability to not panic.

2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.

3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.

4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so that He can untangle the knot.

6. Do the math. Count your blessings.

7. God wants spiritual fruit, NOT religious nuts.

8. Dear God, I have a problem. It's me.

9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but NEVER misquoted.

10. Laugh every day; it's like inner jogging.

11. The most important things in your home are the people.

12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

13. There is no key to happiness............ The door is always open.

14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.

15. He who dies with the most toys is STILL dead.

16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments.

17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just hearsay.

18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now & again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.

19. Surviving and living you life successfully requires courage. The great goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from a turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.

20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

21. Feed your faith and...................your doubts will starve to death.

Something else to ponder: Let us say that you will live to be 100 years old, that is a total of 36,500 days. Let's say all the money you would ever make in your lifetime is $36,500. How eager would you be to throw even one dollar away?

****DARRELL SCOTT TESTIMONY****
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt t hat God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy-it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. "I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and reek havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is an historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. "Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes-He did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in
America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999 , at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would poin t your finger at the NRA - I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Do what the media did not - - let the nation hear this man's speech. Please send this out to everyone you can.

THE POSITIVE SIDE OF LIFE:

Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip
Around the sun every year.

How long a minute is
depends on what side of the
bathroom door you're on.

Birthdays are good for you;
the more you have,
the longer you live.

Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late
are often much jollier
than the people who have to wait for them?

Most of us go to our grave
with our music still inside of us.

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day,
how come nothing is free yet?

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
to only make once.

Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
and all are different colors....but
they all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day, and
know that someone
who thinks you're great
has thought about you today!..

"And that person was me.".....
Please don't keep this message
to yourself.....send it to those
who mean so much to you.... "NOW".

Working for God on earth does not pay much,

but His Retirement plan is out of this world.

Windshield Message from a child

One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. "Dad, I'm thinking of something."

This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.

"What are you thinking?" I asked.

"The rain;" she began, "is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away."

After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond.

"That's really good, Aspen.."

Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation?

So I asked... "Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?"

Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer:

"We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."

Angels at Work ........

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We
walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is
the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are
received."
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many
angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and
scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long
corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.
Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and
delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working
hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and
were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door
of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was
seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my
angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed. "How is it
that? There's no work going on here?" I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that
they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this
world.

"If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a
dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in
the world who has that opportunity."

Also ......

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ...... you
are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you
are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

"If you can attend a church meeting without  fear of harassment,
arrest, torture or death ... you are envied by, and more blessed than, three
billion people in the world.

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in
that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more
blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at
all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along
to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.
